Athleisure Featuring Bandier
It’s no surprise that Fitness wear has made its mark on the fashion scene and is here to stay.
The activewear market has exploded in the past few years with countless new workout and athleisure brands — not to mention that just about every fashion retailer has added or expanded its activewear lineup.
Whether for running to the gym or merely running errands, athleisure wear has become many women’s go-to wardrobe staple. Defined as workout gear that can also be worn in non-workout settings, the athleisure concept has caught fire in recent years. In fact, it’s become so popular that the apparel has replaced many women’s on-the-go outfits.
What started in 2014 as a pop-up shop in Southampton, New York,Bandier has quickly exploded into an athleisure boutique like none other. It’s become my “Barneys” of fitness wear.
I’m grateful for the broad selection that Bandier offers after many years of feeling there was a void in the fashion/fitness world. With a broad range of the trending styles to yet more sleek and conservative looks, Bandier offers a great selection.
With five stores at the moment, and more in the works, and E commerce, Bandier Fit offers dozens of luxury and mainstream athletic wear lines—from well-known brands such as Nike and UnderArmour to designer collaborations like Adidas by Stella McCartney,Cushnie Et Ochs, and Mary Katrantzou for Reebok.
Founder Jennifer Bandier’s background is in the music business. Her forte in searching, discovering and managing talent is as well as building global brands.
While there is no obvious connection between entertainment and fitness apparel, many of the skills she learned while managing bands boasts its own boutique fitness studio with a rotating roster of A-list fitness instructors, a juice bar and a communal area. Her talent transcends into sourcing out the best selection of fitness wear that crosses over with high fashion and yet comfort and practicality.
Bandier is openminded and welcomes up and coming designers, fitness instructors and those embarking on new fitness projects. Her enthusiasm evokes the overall positive vibes of the Bandier atmosphere.
Bandier cares about community. They host weekly events at all locations featuring wellness and holistic enthusiasts. The 5th Avenue flagship in Flatiron has a community area as well as a fitness studio, Studio B,where they offer 25 classes per week with a range from Pilates,to Yoga,Spin,Bar and strength classes.
