Hosting a Home Trunk Show
It was on a beautiful LA afternoon while having lunch with my two girlfriends, Rita and Mara, that we brainstormed the idea of a trunk show. We were having such a good time that we didn’t want the fun to end. So we planned our next get together and decided that they would come visit me in New York, and I would host a casual trunk show for both of these intuitive, beautiful designers.
It felt like an appropriate plan, as a trunk show is a great way to open up your home, gather a community and empower women in business. Rita designs beautiful hand sewn Kimonos, in which she personally sets the intention of her client after consulting with them while sewing. Mara, a Reiki master, handcrafts beautiful metals into gorgeous pieces of jewelry both in 14k gold and costume. She also designs incredibly soft and stylish leather belts and bags.
This was a no-brainer for me as I love hosting and bringing stylish women together to shop, hang out and talk about setting intentions. One week prior to the event, we sent an invitation flyer to friends with an RSVP phone number since it was a private residence.
I kept it pretty simple – offering pitchers of infused waters with fruits and herbs, white wine and cookies and healthy vegan treats. It was a great day where my home was full of beautiful energy from gathering the eclectic mix offriends. Even better, they were able to go home with great purchases from Rita and Mara.
